English Department
Welcome to the Reddish Vale Technology College English Department.
The first consideration of any department should always be the pupils in its care and, as such, the primary aim of the department should be to offer a caring disciplined environment in which all pupils can develop their talents and abilities to the full.
Allied to this general statement the English department is committed to the following:
- to help pupils acquire a level of language competence necessary for them to meet their needs as adults in society;
- to encourage respect for moral values, for others and for oneself, and tolerance of other races, religions and ways of life;
- to encourage the use of new technology as a more effective tool for teaching and learning which, in itself, will contribute to an overall raising of standards throughout the school.
- to encourage pupil's enjoyment of the subject.
Mission Statement

We will promote effective teaching and learning by motivated, well trained staff who have clear targets which are regularly reviewed.
We will encourage our pupils to prepare for the technological demands of life in the new millennium.
