We are yet again delighted with our superb GCSE results. 61% of our learners achieved five or more good passes, 48% gained 5 or more including English and Maths, demonstrating the success of the college’s priority of preparing learners for the next stage of their learning. Overall our five or more 5A* to C have increased by 21% in the last three years.
All subjects showed an improvement on last year, with outstanding performances in many.
Andrew Gwynne MP congratulated the learners on their achievements and acknowledged the dedication, hard work and commitment of all the staff.
Reddish Vale Technology College is a member of the Vale Federation, working closely with Abingdon Primary School and Reddish Vale Nursery to deliver a more efficient and effective service to the Reddish and Brinnington Communities.
The Vale Trust includes Dale Stafford local entrepreneur and trainer, Andy Jones, Dean of Education at Manchester Metropolitan University, Mags Bradbury and Mervyn Wilson, both from the Co-operative Group, Lynn Merilion, Principle of Stockport College and Mark Weldon the Executive Councillor for Children and Young People.
As you know, the College sets high standards, and tries very hard to maintain them. I would ask that parents help us by ensuring your son/daughter wears the correct College uniform, and brings the right equipment with them each day. Research has shown that the greatest greatest influence on the success of young people is their parents. Please support us in what we do and be as ambitious for your son/daughter as we are.
