Friday Farm Update - 13th April 2026

Before the Easter break, we conducted some pupil voice about what improvements we could make on the farm and one of the ideas was to move the changing rooms to the farm unit. We set about constructing book racks from 100% recycled wood. These were finished, painted and installed by pupils, who have said it is much better.

Year 11 Animal Care pupils volunteered to come onto the farm to clean the hand washing area and they did a fantastic job.

Intervention and Farm Club pupils were involved in planting flowers and shrubs outside reception before Easter. They enjoy maintaining and watering the plants and are really proud of the arrangements of the planters they decided on. They’re now looking forward to watching them fully bloom over the next few weeks.

The Ivy Project continues to support the farm by kindly donating salad and other veg that is left over after distributing food to the local community via their valued mobile food bank service.

Finally, the last of the ducks to be bred on the farm for now has been named Norris by the pupils. She will be introduced to the other ducks and chickens in a couple of weeks when she begins to feather.
