Friday Farm Update - 3rd July 2026

Last week we welcomed an APHA (Animal and Plant Health Agency) officer to the farm for a routine inspection. We are delighted to report that she was extremely pleased with the high standards maintained across the farm, including our animal care, storage, labelling, and hygiene practices.

Year 7 pupils enjoyed a practical recycling project, repurposing a broken broom head into a handy boot cleaner for the farm. They developed their practical skills by sawing, drilling, and using screwdrivers, and were proud to create such a useful item entirely from recycled materials.

Our pupils have also been adding some fantastic photographs to our growing farm collection, which will soon be printed and displayed around the farm unit. Pictured here is Spike, our much-loved bearded dragon, who continues to be a firm favourite with the pupils.

Y7 and Y8 pupils are delighted that the latest tomato plants are coming along really well after an earlier batch failed. They were determined to try again and grew these from seeds and moved them to the plant beds where they are thriving.
