On 7th October, we hosted our first parent and child cooking class as part of our healthy lifestyles and wellbeing week. Our parent and child pairs got stuck in, cooking up delicious Mexican-inspired street food while learning new skills, trying new flavours and, most importantly, having lots of fun together.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us — we loved seeing the kitchen filled with smiles, teamwork and plenty of tasty food!
We were recently delighted to welcome back former pupil, Georgina, who spoke to our Year 10 pupils about the importance of hard work, revision and following your aspirations as she shared her own career journey.
Inspired by Georgina’s talk, our Year 10 pupils have been thinking about their own futures during form time by creating time capsules featuring written messages to their future selves and their aspirations.
The time capsules will be re-opened at the end of the school year, giving pupils the opportunity to reflect on how far they have come.
On 5th October, we welcomed some of our feeder primary schools to take part in a football festival, and it was a great success! The pupils showed great teamwork and sportsmanship throughout.
We hope all the pupils had lots of fun and enjoyed the experience. A huge well done to everyone who took part!
Every pupil who was in school every day for a week received a Freddo on the Friday as a little reward for their fantastic commitment and attendance.

Congratulations to 8L, Mr Simpson's form, who won our Year 8 Interform Tower Building Challenge with an incredible 60cm free-standing tower made entirely from spaghetti, marshmallows, string and tape!
The challenge was designed to instill a sense of belonging in our pupils, to encourage them to work together, communicate effectively and strengthen relationships within their form groups.
With limited resources and plenty of creativity, every form worked together to build the tallest structure possible.
A huge well done to all the pupils for their teamwork and enthusiasm. A special mention to 8E, whose tower reached the greatest height but didn't secure them the win as it couldn't quite stand on its own!
A fantastic effort from everyone involved.
Our recent Year 8 PGL trip was a huge success!
Our pupils had an amazing time taking part in a fantastic range of activities, including the giant paddle board, Quick Jump, zip wire and axe throwing, to name just a few!
Some of their favourite moments included:
“Helping someone on the zip wire.”
“When I hit the board in axe throwing.”
“Spending your night with your friends.”
The pupils also had some great advice for our Year 7s, who will have the opportunity to take part in their own residential school trip during the summer term:
“Don’t be scared and try your hardest.”
“Talk to everyone and make the most of it.”
“Enjoy it to the best of your ability.”
To celebrate National Poetry Day we welcomed Reece from Young Identity into school to deliver an engaging assembly to our Year 9 pupils, followed by a poetry workshop where a selection of pupils had the opportunity to produce and read their own poetry.
Reece was truly inspiring and he spoke about how “Poetry can be life changing for people” and “it moves beyond poetry into activism and making change in the world”.
On Friday 24th September Y11 GCSE Citizenship pupils enjoyed a session with local MP Navendu Mishra to support in developing their Theme B and wider Citizenship knowledge.
Pupils heard from Navendu about his role as an MP, what he does in Parliament and in the constituency and then took part in Q&A. Pupils asked interesting and topical questions on a range of topics, from the death penalty to the voting system.
Navendu commented how well engaged the pupils were throughout the session.
