Mental Health Awareness Week

Kooth offers anonymous and free access to mental health and emotional wellbeing support, available to young people in the UK.

This year, the theme for Mental Health awareness week is Nature and the Environment

Kooth is offering free sessions for parents/carers, education professionals and community professionals to attend. In these sessions you will discover the ways Kooth helps to support the mental health and emotional wellbeing of young people and will include an in-depth look at our:

  • Community Support recourses.
  • Self-help tools.
  • Practitioner assisted interventions.

Additionally, the sessions will also include:

  • Tips for supporting mental health and emotional wellbeing in nature and the environment.
  • A Q&A portion.
  • A live demonstration of Kooth.com.

Kooth will be running three different sessions to ensure the sessions are as useful as possible:

Tuesday 11th May, 4:00pm - 5:00pm - Educational professionals

This session is designed to support any staff who work with or support young people in an educational setting. This will include some simple steps that you can incorporate in your practice to reinforce positive mental health and emotional wellbeing. This session will detail the resources available on Kooth.com and the community outreach work we offer that you can utilise in school. This session will be run by Tom Boroughs.

Wednesday 12th May, 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm - Parent/carers

Designed to answer any questions parents/carers may have about Kooth, this session will follow the same format as above and will provide helpful tips in supporting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing at home. This session should include tips that are helpful for your whole family. This session will be run by Ophelia Murphy.

Thursday 14th May, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm - Community professionals.

If you work with or support young people within a community setting in Greater Manchester, this session has been designed with you in mind. We will outline how we support young people in Greater Manchester, and the services we offer that may be helpful for your organisation. This session will detail the resources available on Kooth.com and the community outreach work we offer that you can utilise in your organisation. This session will be run by Eván Richards.
