Recent Covid Isolations- June/July 2021

We apologies for any inconvenience caused by the recent self-isolation requests relating to Covid. As a school we have to follow guidance, which currently requires any named close contacts of a positive test case to self- isolate. In the case of a lateral flow positive result we will only request isolation until a PCR result is presented, if this is positive the isolation period continues up to 10 days, if negative pupils will be asked to return to school. All positive cases need to be reported to school immediately. Lateral flow tests should be regularly administered for all consenting pupils, regardless of whether pupils have symptoms or not. A positive lateral flow must be followed up with a PCR.

The process to identify close contacts involves a track and trace of seating plans alongside dialogue with the individual that tested positive to assist in identifying anyone they may have been in contact with socially or beyond the classroom. We can only base judgements on the information initially provided however, we do consider any additional evidence that is presented. We appreciate the negative impact  self-isolation has on learning and continue to provide a blended learning programme for pupils at home. Please support us in encouraging pupils to engage with this via google classrooms as staff are working hard to ensure pupils in and out of school continue with their education.

Thank you for your continued support in these difficult times.
