Mask Wearing In School

Dear Parents / Carers,

I am writing to let you know that the government guidance for schools on managing Coronavirus has changed. This reflects recent concerns about the new Omicron variant. The guidance may be found here

Pupils, members of staff and visitors to the school are now required to wear masks in corridors and other communal areas around the school unless they are exempt from wearing a mask. Please note that masks are not required to be worn in lessons. Please can you ensure you send your child into school every day with a mask. Unfortunately many pupils are still arriving to school without masks, please note school cannot continue to provide masks at the current rate, pupils are expected to bring their own masks into school with them. It is important we all work together to protect our school community. I would be most grateful if you could ensure that your child has a mask with them from today, Tuesday 30 November 2021.

Pupils using school buses or public transport should also wear masks.

Please can we also ask that if parents need to attend school that an appointment is always made in advance. We will not be able to accept any visitors without a pre-arranged appointment. We will also not be able to accept forgotten PE kits, equipment etc. at reception, therefore please can we ask you ensure your child is equipped for school in advance.

We continue to encourage the pupils to sanitise their hands regularly and to take two lateral-flow Coronavirus tests each week. The test kits are freely available from local chemists and medical centres. We will also continue to ventilate indoor spaces, as far as is practicable given the weather conditions.

Thank you very much for your cooperation and support of the school.
