Stockport Schools Climate Action Network

On 15th June, 2 of our dedicated pupils, Ace R and Blaire W in Year 9 went to Stockport Town Hall to debate in the Stockport Schools Climate Action Network in the Council Chambers.

The pupils gave the following statement about their experience:

"We proposed the idea of making biodegradable, eco-friendly and reusable period products available and accessible to schools. We were successful, won the debate and received words of praise from local councillors, campaigners and even the Mayor of Stockport! We were then interviewed by the Council and BBC Radio Manchester to share our success, and are extremely grateful for the opportunity.

Because we won, our idea is now going to a full council debate, which we will be included in, as well. It was a real honour and an incredible experience, and we can’t wait to take our campaign further. This is only the start of our journey!"

All of us here at Reddish Vale are so incredibly proud of Ace and Blair for their idea, their dedication and their amazing achievement.
