Dear Parents and Carers,

As I write the country is gradually coming out of lock down, having being through strange and unprecedented times. We are thrilled with the work so many of the young people have completed in such challenging circumstances. We would like the students at Reddish Vale to capitalise on this learning and ensure it is not lost. This would put them at a significant advantage in the autumn term.
Some people only ever dream of being able to chat away in another language. This could actually be a reality for your son / daughter and the journey starts here! Even though they might not all be lucky enough to be travelling this summer they can still turn themselves into awesome linguists and wow family, friends and teachers by turning up in September with amazing language skills. In order to encourage continued learning we are launching 2 competitions. Students can enter one or both.
1. The Language Nut Challenge
As I write Reddish Vale is in the top 15 schools in the whole world on Lanauge Nut.
The top 5 students from Reddish Vale on 31 August 2020 will receive prize.
There will also be prizes for those with a high world ranking. (We already have students in the top 20 in the world! ) Send a screenshot to the teacher on google classroom showing the position:
10 RADIs for being in the top 1000
20 RADIs for being in the top 750
30 RADIs for being in the top 500
50 RADIs for being in the top 250
80 RADIs for being in the top 100
100 RADIs for being in the top 50
2. The Duolingo Challenge:
The top 5 scorers in each year group will receive a prize.
