All our pupils get an opportunity to play competitive games as we host A and B team tournaments for boys and girls here at RVHS.
As a school we enter the Stockport league, Stockport cup, Cheshire cup, Greater Manchester cup and English schools competitions. This means our pupils can participate against local schools and against the best football teams in the country on the national stage.
We offer referee course here at RVHS. These are led by former Premier league linesman Trevor Massey who is a referee coach for the FA.

Basketball training takes place every Monday after school for all year groups with Mr McClelland and Mr Lees. We have different ability groups from beginners to the elite level.
We as a school have one of the best basketball facilities in the Northwest. As a result we host the Stockport borough tournaments for each year group for boys and girls. We enter 2 teams at the tournaments to give all abilities an opportunity to represent to our school.
Many of our older pupils will referee the games which helps to develop their leadership skills even further. Our pupils can complete the referees courses here at RVHS. Miss Bow-Butters who referees at the Super league level in England leads these courses.
We enter the national competitions to give our elite performers a chance to play against the best basketballers in the country. We participate in the Year 7 Junior NBA, Year 8 Junior NBA, Under 14 English Schools and Under 16 schools competitions.

At RHVS we have Netball teams at each year group. The training sessions and games take place every Tuesday after school.
As a school we participate in the Stockport league with the majority of fixtures taking place at our school, due to the brilliant indoors we have here at RVHS.
Our teams also compete in the National competitions which are known as, 'Sisters in Sport'. This involves fixtures against the best Netball teams in England. Mrs Riley's team reached the final two years which was an outstanding achievement.
All our pupils get an opportunity to enjoy Netball each week, with lots of competitive fixtures each term. We encourage both beginners and elite performers to play Netball at RVHS.
Pickleball
Pickleball is a paddle sport blending tennis, badminton and table-tennis skills. It is played on a badminton-sized court with a low net, using solid paddles and a plastic ball. A rally starts with an underhand serve and players are not allowed to volley in the "kitchen" (non-volley zone) near the net. Only the serving team can score points and the winners are the first to reach 11 points. Pickleball is played in pairs and is accessible for all ages and all abilities, so come and join in!
