My name is Mrs King-Fahey and I am the Transition Lead here at Reddish Vale High School.
It is important for us all to ensure that the transition from primary school to secondary school is as smooth as possible and that your child settles well into Reddish Vale. To support this we will organise a variety of visits to the school for years 5 and 6 students. These visits give pupils a taste of the school environment and allows them to take part in aspirational experiences and meet the determined staff, whilst also showcasing the great work that they will be taking part in once they join us here at Reddish Vale High School.
There will also be numerous opportunities for you as parents/carers to visit Reddish Vale High School. We recognise that moving to secondary school can give rise to concerns and lots of questions, and we hope to provide you with the information you need, to help you prepare for this important phase in your child’s life.
We have a close relationship with the primary schools in our area and utilise this to ensure that we have a thorough understanding of your child’s individual needs and are therefore prepared to support them integrate successfully to life at Reddish Vale High School.
I personally work very closely with the Pastoral Team and the SEND department, to ensure as smooth a transition is possible. I firmly believe this promotes a smooth transition into Year 7 and that pupils arrive ready to get straight on with learning successfully, and thrive.
I look forward to seeing and hearing from you. If you have any questions with regards to Reddish Vale and my work with Primary Schools, please do not hesitate to get in touch by contacting the school on
